The Hussar regiment was a cavalry type in the Army of the Russian Kingdom and Imperial Army. They were generally employed for reconnaissance and sentry duty. They were also used in vanguard and rearguard operations during battles. Hussars were also often used to attack any fleeing or routed enemies in the battlefield to achieve maximum casualties and truly break the enemy.
