Description
An Unmounted French Cuirassier, less mobile but just as skilled and deadly.
The Cuirassier in Napoleon’s la Grand Armée had a fearsome reputation in battle. They were some of the biggest and wieldy men on the field, often recruited from farming stock. They derive their name from the Cuirass, which was an iron and brass breast plate which provided good protection at range from flintlock fire.
These soldiers were most often seen on horseback as heavy cavalry option for Boneparte’s forces to engage other cavalry or ram the infantry formations. Typically they would be equipped with a longer than average straight spear pointed blade and a pistol.
This Unmounted French Cuirassier minifigure comes with a selection of accessories including:
- Plastic replica musket
- Plastic replica straight sword
- Cuirassier helmet & lobster tail
- Replica Cuirass
