The Azov brigade is a voluntary militia of Ukrainian National Guardsmen detachments from the Sea of Azov coastal region. Fierce defenders of Mariupol which was besieged as part of Russia’s war in Ukraine in 2022. That activity and its general deployment in offensive operations has earned it a reputation as being one of the country’s most capable units.
