Description

The Inquisitorius was a secretive organization established by the Galactic Empire to hunt surviving Jedi after the execution of Order 66. Operating directly under Darth Vader and the Emperor, the Inquisitorius was composed of former Jedi and Force-sensitive individuals. These individuals who had been captured, broken, and turned into Imperial enforcers.

Members of the Inquisitorius, known as Inquisitors, were trained in the dark side of the Force and equipped with distinctive double-bladed spinning lightsabers. They appear prominently in Star Wars Rebels, Jedi: Fallen Order, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and other canon media. Their primary function was to locate, pursue, and eliminate Jedi survivors, Force-sensitive children, and rebel threats.

Unlike Sith Lords, Inquisitors were not taught the full depth of Sith philosophy. They were expendable tools of the Empire, used to enforce compliance and eliminate lingering Jedi influence. Many were former Jedi Padawans or Knights who survived Order 66 but were later captured and coerced into service.

The Inquisitorius played a critical role in the early years of the Empire, ensuring that organized Jedi resistance could not reform. Their presence contributed to the near-total extinction of the Jedi Order by the time of the original trilogy.
