This minifigure represents a German Army general of the Second World War, a high-ranking officer of the Wehrmacht who commanded divisions, corps, or entire armies in campaigns across Europe, North Africa, and the Eastern Front. Generals of the Wehrmacht played pivotal roles in Germany’s early victories as well as its ultimate defeat.

The general’s uniform was distinct from that of ordinary soldiers. The field-grey tunic was finely tailored, adorned with silver piping, decorations, and the iconic Wehrmacht eagle. Generals wore red collar tabs with oak leaves, a symbol of their high rank, as well as elaborate shoulder boards denoting seniority. The officer’s peaked cap, with silver braiding and eagle insignia, was an unmistakable marker of authority. Many generals also carried ceremonial daggers or sidearms such as the Luger P08 or Walther P38.

Notable German generals became household names during the war. Erwin Rommel, the “Desert Fox,” earned fame leading the Afrika Korps. On the Eastern Front, generals such as Friedrich Paulus commanded forces at Stalingrad, while others like Guderian pioneered armoured warfare. Though tactically brilliant, many generals were complicit in the Nazi regime’s policies, and some were later tried for war crimes. A few, however, such as those involved in the July 20, 1944 plot to assassinate Hitler, resisted the regime at great personal risk.

The minifigure’s details reflect these iconic traits — the officer’s cap, decorated tunic, and rank insignia — capturing the sharp, authoritative appearance of the German command staff.
