Description

The French Artillery Officer were the ranking men commanding the Napoleons many cannons on the battlefield.

Artillery regiments of the French army used a mixture of 6pdr, 12pdr and the very heavy 24pdr howitzers. The officer also had responsibility for about 100-200 men, 200-300 horses, 6-8 guns, a forge, a battery wagon and many supply wagons. Arguably his job, was much more demanding than his infantry or cavalry counterparts.
