Clone trooper Echo was a member of the 501st Legion and one of the most recognizable individual clones from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Originally designated CT-1409, Echo earned his nickname after repeating orders during training, a trait that later became ironic given his reputation for reliability and discipline. He served under Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and alongside Captain Rex throughout many major campaigns of the war.

Echo first appeared during the Battle of Rishi Station, where he fought alongside Fives, Heavy, and Droidbait against a Separatist listening post. This early engagement established Echo as a capable infantry trooper and cemented his bond with Domino Squad survivors. Over time, Echo participated in several critical operations, including the defense of Kamino against Separatist invasion.

Echo was presumed killed during the Citadel rescue mission after sacrificing himself to save his squad. However, later revelations in The Clone Wars revealed that Echo survived and was captured by the Techno Union. He was heavily modified and used as a living tactical computer to predict Republic strategies, demonstrating the Separatists’ willingness to exploit clones beyond combat.

Eventually rescued by Clone Force 99, Echo chose to join the Bad Batch, serving as a bridge between standard clone troopers and genetically enhanced units. His story highlights the loss of autonomy experienced by clones and the long-term consequences of the war.
