Description
The Soviet PPSh-41 was one of the most formidable and mass-produced submachine guns of the Second World War. Known affectionately by Soviet soldiers as the “Papasha” or “Daddy,”. This weapon became a symbol of Red Army firepower on the Eastern Front. Developed by Georgy Shpagin in 1941 to replace the PPD-40, the PPSh was designed for fast, cheap production and reliability. It was chambered for 7.62×25mm Tokarev cartridges, a high-velocity round that gave it both punch and range in close-quarters combat.
With a staggering rate of fire averaging around 900 rounds per minute, the PPSh could unleash devastating firepower. When paired with its distinctive 71-round drum magazine, it was highly practical. Soldiers often described it as a weapon that could blanket the battlefield with bullets, making it ideal for the brutal house-to-house fighting of Stalingrad. By the end of the war, over six million PPSh-41s had been produced and was one of the most prolific firearms in history.
The minifigure accessory captures the look of the PPSh-41. It comes complete with its iconic drum magazine and fixed wooden stock. As a replica, it represents the Soviet Union’s ability to mass-produce reliable weapons that could withstand the extreme conditions of the Eastern Front. Minifigure enthusiasts will appreciate its history as a weapon that armed millions. We recommend it for accurate builds of Soviet soldiers storming Berlin or defending their homeland. Its compact, durable design has ensured the PPSh’s legacy long after World War II, with use in conflicts throughout the Cold War and beyond.
