Description

The IG-100 Magnaguard Droid was an elite combat droid employed by Count Dooku during the Clone Wars. Manufactured by Holowan Mechanicals, these droids were designed specifically to counter Jedi by combining electrostaff weaponry, reinforced armour plating, and advanced combat programming. Unlike standard Separatist battle droids, Magnaguards were independent units capable of adapting to enemy tactics in real time.

IG-100 Magnaguard Droids were most frequently deployed as bodyguards, most notably protecting Count Dooku and General Grievous. They appear throughout Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith, often engaging Jedi in close-quarters combat. Their electrostaffs were capable of blocking lightsaber strikes, making them particularly dangerous opponents despite lacking Force sensitivity.

These droids were also used to guard high-value locations, escort prisoners, and delay enemy advances. While not indestructible, Magnaguards were significantly more durable than standard B1 or B2 battle droids and were programmed to fight until complete destruction.
