Description
The minifigure-scale M1 Thompson represents the iconic American submachine gun, famously nicknamed the “Tommy Gun.” Developed in 1919, it rose to prominence during WWII as the M1 and M1A1 variants. Chambered in .45 ACP, it featured a 30-round box magazine and a rate of fire around 600–700 rounds per minute.
The Thompson was beloved by U.S. soldiers for its close-range stopping power and reliability, though it was heavy at nearly 11 lbs loaded. Issued widely to paratroopers, Marines, and officers, it became a symbol of American infantry during WWII. It saw further use in Korea and even Vietnam.
This miniature captures the Thompson’s compact design with its wooden stock and pistol grip. It’s a key accessory for U.S. WWII paratrooper or commando figures.
